Yup, I went there. I blame Shannon Doherty.
Shannon Doherty once confessed to smoking in order to maintain her weight, and to lower the pitch of her voice. (don't believe me? Read it here. Lowering her voice?? That should have been the first clue to the insanity of this advice.)

Days on "diet": about three weeks
Physical effects from "diet": Stinky hair, horrendous morning breath, aggravated allergies, unknown physical damage to body/lungs.
